During recent months, healthcare professionals in Ukraine had an invaluable opportunity to refine their skills through practical training sessions facilitated by 3D4Med laboratory. Located within the San Matteo Policlinic in Pavia, this collaboration focused on enhancing emergency medicine residents’ proficiency in performing invasive procedures. Utilizing simulators meticulously designed and produced by the laboratory, participants engaged in hands-on exercises, including the decompression of pneumothorax with a needle and the insertion of a chest tube. The realistic rib cage simulator served as a vital tool, enabling trainees to simulate real-life scenarios and refine their techniques under expert guidance.

PRATICAL COURSE OF THE PERCUTANEOUS STELLATE GANGLION BLOCK PROCEDURE

In collaboration with the San Matteo Hospital, our team has meticulously crafted a specialized phantom for the Practical Course of the Percutaneous Stellate Ganglion Block. This esteemed course, now in its 7th edition and spanning several years, has been instrumental in training specialists in the field. Our contribution has been integral to the success of the course, as we provided expert guidance, designed, and facilitated the practical aspects of the phantom. We ensure that our phantoms meet the highest standards, enabling participants to hone their skills and expertise in a realistic and controlled environment. With our continued support, this course remains a cornerstone of professional development in the medical field, empowering participants to deliver exceptional patient care.

SIALENDOSCOPY TRAINING THROUGH LIFELIKE SIMULATOR

Through our ongoing collaboration with Prof. Pietro Canzi, we have developed an innovative course aimed at training in sialendoscopy procedures. This course is meticulously crafted to cater to the needs of medical professionals seeking to enhance their skills in navigating the intricate ducts of the major salivary glands, such as the submandibular and parotid glands, using miniaturized optical devices.

The course delves into the complexities of sialoendoscopy, offering in-depth insights into the identification of glandular duct issues and potential treatment modalities. It is designed to address the significant challenges posed by these procedures, providing participants with hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

MICROSURGICAL COURSE ANEURYSM CLIPPING AND VASCULAR ANASTOMOSIS ON SYNTHETIC AND PLACENTA

We’ve recently contributed to the neurovascular microsurgical course titled “Aneurysms Clipping and Vascular Anastomosis on Synthetic and Placenta” held at the SimNova simulation center in Novara. As part of this course, we’ve developed a specialized 3Dprinted kit for micro-anastomosis training sessions using synthetic models.

Our kit includes a cerebral vessel model along with a supporting base designed specifically for use under the microscope. These models offer a realistic and immersive training experience, providing participants with valuable hands-on practice opportunities on cadaver-free models.

PEDIATRIC PICC INSERTION TRAINING UTLIZING LIFELIKE PHANTOMS

Course focused on pediatric phantom utilization for simulating the PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) insertion procedure.

The course emphasizes the utilization of advanced pediatric phantoms meticulously designed to replicate all necessary anatomical structures with realistic echogenicity properties.

Participants will engage in hands-on training sessions where they will learn and practice the PICC insertion procedure on these lifelike models. Our phantoms offer the most realistic experience possible, allowing users to hone their skills without posing any risk to actual patients. By providing this immersive training experience, we aim to equip medical professionals with the expertise needed to confidently perform PICC insertions, ultimately enhancing patient care and safety.

PERICARDIOCENTESIS REALISTIC SIMULATION TRAINING WITH ADVANCED PHANTOM

Course focused on pericardiocentesis utilizing innovative phantom model.

The course is designed to provide comprehensive training in pericardiocentesis procedures using lifelike phantoms. These phantoms accurately replicate the anatomical structures relevant to the procedure, ensuring a realistic training experience for participants.Participants will engage in hands-on sessions where they will learn and practice pericardiocentesis under simulated conditions. Our phantoms offer realistic echogenicity properties, providing users with an immersive training environment without any risk to actual patients. 
In this specific phantom, participants will have the opportunity to practice the pericardiocentesis procedure with two types of fluids: one red and one blue. These fluids are contained within the phantom to provide feedback on whether the syringe has been inserted correctly or not.
